Soareast Australia Pty Ltd was founded in 2000 to assist some Tasmanian abalone and rock lobster processors that were having difficulties with product marketing principally to the North Asian market. With a strong network of relationships with Tasmanian processors Soareast can source and provide products to suit the needs of discerning international buyers.

Soareast source premium abalone and rock lobster that is caught in the cool clean waters located adjacent to the Southern Ocean in the surrounding waters of Tasmania. Both of these fisheries have world class sustainable management arrangements to ensure the viability of the fisheries well into the future. Add to this the geographical isolation of the island and the stringent quarantine controls it ensures that products are free of serious aquatic disease.

The Managing Director, Mrs Cindy Yuan a native from mainland China had been resident in Tasmania since the mid 1990’s. She realised that her cultural background and appreciation of the value held in the Asian region for abalone and rock lobster and the fact that the quality of wild caught product is unsurpassed in the world that Soareast could make a significant impact on marketing these products.
